Jon Cardwell - PRINCIPAL
I graduated from the University of North Alabama in 1993 with a degree in Secondary Education (History and English). After teaching for one year in Birmingham, AL at West End High School, I moved to Hunstville, AL with coaching/teaching stops at Buckhorn HS and Meridianville MS.
I moved to Gulf Shores HS in 2002, teaching English and History. Soon after moving here, I entered administration as AP at J. Larry Newton School. After two years as AP at Spanish Fort ES, I was named principal of Elberta MS. In December 2012, I was named principal of Fairhope HS, where I am today.
I am married to Kristi Cardwell, a Pre-K teacher at J. Larry Newton School. Together, we have a daughter and two boys. Kristi and I live in Fairhope; we aren’t ever going anywhere else. This is our HOME.
Fairhope High School is a fantastic place to work and attend. I take such pride in working with a group of amazing students, teachers, staff, parents and community. FHS is such a unique school. We make it our goal to reach EVERY kid EVERY single day.
