About Me
Bio
My name is Richard Giardina. I have happily lived in Baldwin County for over 30 years. My wife and I have been married 17 of those wonderful years. Together, we have three beautiful girls ages 6, 8, and 12. All three of our girls are currently enrolled here at Loxley Elementary School and proud to be Bear Cubs.
After graduating from the University of South Alabama, I began my career teaching in Mobile, Alabama. I taught fifth grade in Toulminville for five years. Beginning in 2003, I obtained a fifth grade teaching position with Loxley Elementary School. I have been happily teaching and mentoring ever since.
I am an eMINTS teacher at Loxley Elementary School. This unique status requires dedication to additional training and lesson preparation. As an eMINTS teacher, I facilitate the students as they use high levels of technology to complete classroom tasks in an innovative way. Authentic tasks in the form of project based and inquiry based learning is the primary format of my lessons. Together, the students work cooperatively and build a strong community of learners.
