Office of the Principal
Welcome to BMMS. My name is Zack Wigstrom, and I am principal of the best middle school in the county. I can't tell you how excited I am to be going on my sixth year as principal here at Bay Minette Middle School. God truly blessed me when he placed me in the North Baldwin feeder pattern. This is a hidden gem amongst a wonderful county, and I am thrilled to be a part of the best feeder pattern in Alabama. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Rachel, and we have been married for almost 21 years. I have a son and a daughter; Dane (16) and Linden (14). I am so blessed with a wonderful support system at home.
I grew up just down the road in Silverhill and lived there my entire life. I went to high school in Robertsdale and graduated in 1996. I played baseball at Faulkner State for two years and then transferred to South Alabama where I earned my bachelor’s degree in special education. I taught my first year at Fairhope High where I coached football and baseball. My wife and I decided to spread our wings and explore other parts of the country and decided to move to western North Carolina. There, I taught Special Education at Avery County High School where I also coached baseball. We lived in NC for 5 years, and I was able to complete my master’s in education at Appalachian State University. We moved back to Baldwin County when my son was born in 2005. I then started teaching at Central Baldwin Middle School where I stayed for 6 years. I transferred to Spanish Fort High in 2011 and taught for a year and a half. I was able to move into administration in 2012 and have not looked back. I received my Educational Specialist (2009) and Educational Doctorate (2015) from the University of West Florida in Educational Leadership. I became principal at Bay Minette Elementary in 2015 and loved every minute of it.
I have an open-door policy and encourage all of our stakeholders to stop by and see the special things happening here at BMMS. I have high expectations for our students and staff. I look forward to a great year. If I can ever be of service, please call the school or shoot me an email.
