24 years ago, I set out on my career as a teacher, mentor, and educator. In that 24 years, I have taught English, sponsored a school newspaper, taught computer science while operating a computer lab, and worked with students at every age, from preschool to high school. I have worked in public schools, a small private school, and for various companies.
It has been a wonderful journey, and as much as I loved teaching, I knew there was more that I wanted to do. So, my love of books, literature, media, and technology led me right to the Library. The Library has always been a special place for me, so it is wonderful that I "get" to work in one now. I still teach and work with students, but I also get to share with them the incredible world that opens up when they READ. I have been a library media specialist for for about 18 years now, and feel so fortunate to get to do what I do every day!
Other than reading, I love sports, movies, theater, crafting, sewing, and traveling. But really, I would rather be lost in a book reading!
I have been married to my wonderful husband for 13 years, and we have been blessed with 3 beautiful children. We are active and attend CityHope Church in Bay Minette.
