At Foley Elementary, we believe becoming a lifelong reader starts by building a love of reading early. We encourage students to participate in the Accelerated Reader program to increase their love of reading and meet students at their need to achieve reading goals.
Students are encouraged to track their reading goals and to celebrate their achievements towards meeting these goals. Celebrations include dance parties, a movie and popcorn celebration, and a picnic in the park! We want every student to feel success in reading and we believe motivating students through fun celebrations gives them something fun to work towards.
Goals are set through the STAR Reading assessment and students are encouraged to track and pace themselves by working towards their individual goals.
