On Monday, January 21, we lost our Ryland Tice. He was a third grader in Mrs. McAleer's class and will be dearly missed.
We will be closely monitoring for children that need help with the feelings and emotions they may experience with the news of this loss. Students will have access to several counselors on our campus throughout the week. Our teachers will watch their students for signs and ask counselors to help when needed. You may also call and request that a counselor speak with your child.
Gulf Shores is a loving, close-nit community, and many of you will feel a strong need to help Ryland's family. As we learn what needs they have, we will communicate them to you. For now, knowing there are people who care and are thinking about them can be of great comfort. Those of you that would like to leave cards with caring messages are welcome to leave them with our front office staff between Tuesday and Friday and we will deliver them to the family.
Love can comfort, prayers can heal, and a community can fulfill needs.
