Welcome to Loxley Elementary, Principal Gina McClure

Greetings, Loxley Elementary School Families! 

My name is Gina McClure, and it is with great excitement and a deep sense of gratitude that I join Loxley Elementary School as your new Principal. Allow me to share a little about myself. I have been an educator in South Alabama for almost twenty-six years, serving Mobile County, Satsuma City, and Baldwin County Public Schools. I have taught students in kindergarten through eighth grades in diverse settings at elementary and middle school levels. Teaching and learning are my passions! When my kindergarten teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I enthusiastically told her I wanted to be a teacher. My dream came true! It has been better than I ever imagined, and I hope I have positively impacted the lives of my students and their families as much as they have positively impacted my own life. My students have taught me everything I know!  

I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Mobile, a Master’s Degree in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Southern Mississippi, and Educational Leadership Certification from the University of South Alabama. I have also benefitted from continuous education and extensive professional development through the Alabama Reading Initiative and the Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative. 

My desire to work in school administration grew from my years of serving in the classroom and in various leadership positions. Those leadership positions include instructional coach, school improvement facilitator and interventionist, language arts supervisor, and system curriculum leader. Over the last six years, I have had the privilege of serving as an assistant principal in Baldwin County at Fairhope East, J. Larry Newton, Daphne, and Belforest Elementary Schools. I am definitely #BaldwinProud and now Loxley Proud! Instructional leadership is an area of great strength for me, and I desire to use my expertise to ensure that academics lead at Loxley Elementary School. I believe in challenging all learners to grow and reach their fullest potential in a safe, supportive, and nurturing school environment. 

I look forward to learning more about each student and family as well as the wonderful faculty and staff members serving our school. I am a genuine and transparent leader who will always be available to you. I believe success starts at home, and I will partner with you to support your vision for your children’s success now and in the future. Loxley Elementary School’s mission statement says it all… Lead-Empower-Succeed. As a new member of the Loxley Elementary Family and as your new principal, I endeavor to live that mission out each day.
