Spring Immunization Clinic

May 16 - 18, 2018


Parents are offered the opportunity to vaccinate their children during the Spring Vaccination Clinic, May 16- 18th. These clinics will offer Tdap, Meningococcal and HPV vaccines. The Baldwin County Schools in collaboration with Franklin Primary Health Center (FPHC) will offer parents an opportunity to vaccinate their children on school campus.  Franklin Primary Health Center’s mobile unit will travel throughout the county.  Parents are asked to bring any documentation of the child’s vaccination history as well as insurance information, Medicaid, BCBS or any other health insurance.  There will be no copay, providers are required to provide health insurance. All students presented will be vaccinated regardless of insurance.  Parents are encouraged to be present!  Providers will be available to effectively address parental questions and concerns.

  • Tetanus Diphtheria Pertussis (Tdap) - Children ages 11 entering the 6th grade are required to have a Tdap vaccination. Please don’t wait to time for school to start!
  • Meningococcal – Is not a required school entry vaccine. Students entering college are encouraged to take prior to entry and can be given to teens and young adults 16 to 23 years.
  • Human Papillomavirus Vaccine (HPV) Is not a required school entry vaccine. HPV is a cancer prevention vaccine. The vaccine is highly recommended by Alabama Department of Public Health, Center for Disease Control and America Academy of Pediatrics.   The vaccine is most effective at 11—​​ it gives the highest level of protection at ​that age, studies recommend children up to age 14 be given two shots 6-months apart. HPV vaccine can be given to females up to age 26 and males up to 21.

Parents/Students are encouraged to utilize their primary care physicians. if not, the vaccines will be offered by Franklin Primary Health Center (FPHC) throughout the county schools.
