Attendance Matters

Missing School Matters
September is Attendance Awareness Month, the perfect time to share a few fast facts.
1.       Research shows that missing 10 percent of the school year, about 17 days, negatively affects a student’s academic performance.
2.       The academic impact of missing that much school is the same whether the absences are excused or unexcused.
3.       Poor attendance can influence whether children read proficiently by the end of third grade or be held back.
4.       When students improve their attendance rates, they improve their academic prospects and chances for graduating.
Please join us as we tackle chronic absenteeism. Let’s strive for students to be in school everyday, all day, all year long. Have a fantastic school year and check out this informative video!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1lsrkFamVI
