BIG NEWS night for our schools. From our supt –

Good evening – this is a historic night in Baldwin County. Tonight our board voted unanimously to create our eighth feeder pattern. We are excited about Elberta High School! Mr. Branton Bailey was appointed principal of Elberta High School at the February board meeting. Tonight our board voted to appoint Coach Greg Siebert as athletic director. Coach Seibert, a resident of Lillian, has been head football coach at Pensacola Catholic High School since 2001. He has also been Dean of Students there. We will soon appoint a band director. Tomorrow (Friday), the school colors and mascot – as selected by the Elberta and Summerdale School Middle students – will be announced. I will be sure to let you know that news soon after the students find out.

On another note, please join me in welcoming a new principal to Gulf Shores High School. Mrs. Cindy Veazey is a veteran educator who joins us from Montgomery County Schools where she has been Career Tech Coordinator since 2015. Previously she was assistant principal and later principal at Wetumpka High School. I’d like to thank Dr. Ernie Rosado, principal of Gulf Shores High School, for an outstanding job. Dr. Rosado is retiring in May, and I will have more to say about him then. Also, I’m excited to tell you that Shannon McCurdy was appointed principal of Foley Intermediate tonight. Mrs. McCurdy was Itinerant Assistant Principal for Foley Intermediate and Foley Middle.

There is so much to be proud of in Baldwin County. We are blessed. I will share more good news with you in the days to come. I hope you have a good night.

Baldwin Proud!
