8th Grade Honors Day
Dear 8th grade parents,
We are pleased to announce that we will be having an in-person Honor’s Day Celebration on Tuesday, May 11th at the Daphne Civic Center to celebrate 8th grade achievements. We are able to use this wonderful facility at half capacity so we will be offering 2 opportunities to celebrate your children. Please review the following information in regards to this program.
Since this program is off campus, we are busing students to the event. A permission form was sent home on April 28th. We need these forms completed and returned no later than Tuesday, May 4th. We request students report to school on the day of the event. All 8th grade students will be bused to the Civic Center. You may check them out from the Civic Center.
Each student will receive 2 tickets for guests to attend the program. Tickets will be sent home by the student on Thursday, May 6th. The tickets will be color coded as to which program your child will be recognized. Due to limited seating, you are only able to attend the program for which you have tickets.
Our two programs will be held at 9:30 am and 11:30 am. Doors will open for parents 30 minutes before each program. The doors will open at 9:00 am for the 9:30 program, and 11:00 am for the 11:30 program for all parents and guests. All students will be recognized through their homerooms. Please see the list below to know which program to attend.
You will be allowed to check-out your child after the program. Check out tables will be set up in the Civic Center lobby and organized by homeroom. If someone else is to check-out your child, we must have a note sent in to the office by Thursday, May 6th.
We are requesting that students dress-up nicely for this program i.e., dresses, shirts and ties etc. Please do not wear strapless dresses without a cover up, spaghetti strap tops, ripped pants, jeans, shorts, leggings or revealing clothing.
We will feature a livestream of our event on our school's youtube channel! We will post the link directly to the video, as well as email that info out as we get closer. We are excited to be able to offer a livestream so that no one misses out. It is also great, because it will save the livestreams on our channel for others to watch after the event is completed.
Thank you so much for hanging in there with us during this unprecedented year. Again, we are excited to celebrate your child’s accomplishments this past year at Daphne Middle School.
