Pirate Peer Tutoring Program- Applications are in the Counselor's Office
Fairhope Middle School's
Pirate Peer Tutoring Program
The FMS Pirate Peer Tutors are both 7th and 8th grade students who volunteer their time during extended homeroom to help their fellow students with homework and studying in all four core subjects, English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Pirate Peer Tutors are identified by classroom teachers who also choose students to participate in tutoring who are motivated and willing to receive help. Pirate Peer Tutors usually meet in the library or cafeteria with their assigned students during homeroom two times per week.
Students participating in the tutoring program must sign the FMS Pirate Peer Tutoring Program Agreement. Tutor/tutee applications are located in the Counselor's office. Parents interested in having their students tutored by a Pirate Peer Tutor need to contact their student's teachers. The Pirate Peer Tutoring Program is supervised by the School Counselors. Students may be dismissed from the program by the School Counselors for lack of effort and/or not following the rules.
