Vaping and E-Cigarettes

Vaping/E-cigarette Phonecast and Email

Parents,

We are seeing a growing trend of e-cigarettes and vape pens at our school.  Students are being suspended almost daily for possession and use of tobacco and THC laced products. Our School Resource Officer is testing every e-cigarette that we confiscate and we are finding more and more laced with THC.  If an e-cigarette is found with THC the student receives a 5-day suspension and is required to attend 4 classes in our county’s Chemical Abuse Prevention Program.

Please take the time to discuss the negative health, safety, and criminal possibilities associated with using these drugs.  Some recent news articles on this topic are attached.  Thank you for your help in keeping our students safe and drug free.
