BALDWIN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS’
TELEVISION STUDENTS AMONG THE STATE’S BEST

ROBERTSDALE, AL—Students in the Baldwin County Public Schools’ Television Production classes at the South Baldwin Center for Technology (SBCT) have garnered a top spot in the Alabama Association of School Board’s (AASB) 2019 statewide student video contest.

The “Road to Success” video contest results have been announced and Baldwin County Public Schools students have placed third overall in a competition adjudicated by a six-member team from Alabama Public Television’s education and production staff. The 30- and 60-second commercials convey stories inspiring students to graduate fully prepared for any “road to success” they choose.

The students will receive $500 in awards for their television class and the videos will be shown at the Alabama State Board of Education’s meeting on Thursday, June 13. The videos will also be posted to APT’s website, www.aptv.org, AASB’s website, www.AlabamaSchoolBoards.org, and on social media platforms including the Baldwin County Public Schools’ District Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/bcbealabama

“Congratulations to South Baldwin Center for Technology TV Production Teacher Mike Bland and his students,” Superintendent Eddie Tyler said. “This is such a tremendous Career Technical Education program which offers our students real-world television production experience and obviously, they’re quite good at it,” Mr. Tyler said.
