09.27.22 Superintendent Update
Parents,
Schools are open and will remain open until further notice. This includes After School Child Care and activities such as athletics.
Over the last week, we have been monitoring the storm activity in the Gulf with our partners at Baldwin County EMA and the National Weather Service. Right now, Hurricane Ian is expected to make landfall Wednesday evening on Florida's western coast. We do not expect any major impacts to our area but if that changes, we are prepared for remote learning.
As we know, this storm could change course at any time. A change in this storm's movement to the west again is not likely, but if that happens we will make an announcement about school closures. Please do not listen to rumors. I will contact you directly by email, phone and text if there is a closure. You can also stay tuned to our website and social media accounts for accurate information.
According to the weather reports today, our area will see gusty winds and increased surf Wednesday through Friday. Most of the impacts will be focused along the coast. Again, we will continue to monitor all of this through the end of the week.
We all know the disruption and disaster these storms can bring. Please keep these Florida families in your thoughts and prayers during the difficult time that is ahead.
Thank you for trusting us with your children and please stay safe.
Eddie Tyler,
Superintendent
