Parent email:
Wow - it's hard to think we kicked off a new school year four months ago! Time is flying!
I want to wish you and your families a fantastic holiday season with a few reminders.
Please be safe. Please talk to your children about the threats we have shared with you in the recently: vaping, alcohol and drugs. We want ALL of our children back in school come January.
Speaking of January, we will be back in school on Wednesday, January 4th. Then mark your calendars because we will be out of school on both January 16th and 17th. The 16th is Martin Luther King Day. The next day, we will have an at home, E-Learning Day on the 17th. We have these days each semester to test our networks and make sure we are prepared for hurricanes, tornadoes or other emergencies which could close a school.
The first semester has been excellent by all reports! Our principals, staff and even our students have been reporting back positive comments. I am looking for academic improvement across the county. We're done with COVID excuses and catching up our kids who fell behind. We are pedaling fast and I like what I'm seeing in this first semester.
I want to thank our employees. We could not have what we have without the dedication of these folks who look after and love your children. This holiday, please think about them and their families. We are blessed to have their talent and caring nature given to our studentseach and every day.
We would also like to thank the parents, employees and community members who donated to the Baldwin Proud Future Teacher Scholarship Program. We greatly appreciate your support!! If you did not have an opportunity to donate you may use the attached QR Code at any time. This program is helping the future of education and the future of education right here in Baldwin County.
Thank you for your support. I am so blessed to live in the best place on Earth, work along the best educators and serve the best parents anyone could want. We've been through some hard times together, but I am excited about what is coming down the line for us! The future is very very bright in Baldwin County!
Enjoy the holidays. Folks, look after your kids. Don't drink and drive. Count your blessings.
I know I used to have a hard time “enjoying the moment” during the holidays. It's so easy to get caught up in what others are doing and the competition of Christmas with decorating and shopping. My advice is to slow down, take a deep breath, hug your kids and enjoy the moment. Trust me, they go by way too fast!
On behalf of our 4,300 employees, thank you for trusting us with your children.
Eddie Tyler,
Superintendent
