Norma Hoots Lynch was appointed to the Baldwin County Board of Education to represent District 5, which includes Elberta schools, Swift School, Gulf Shores schools and Orange Beach Elementary. 

Norma’s daughter, Haley Patterson graduated from Foley High School and her son, Paul Hopper graduated from Gulf Shores High School. She now has grandchildren in Orange Beach Elementary and the Elberta Pre-K program.

Norma grew up in North Carolina where she graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Elementary Education and East Carolina University with a Masters in Elementary Education and a Principal’s Certification.

Her education background includes: Kindergarten and 5th grade teacher, assistant principal at elementary and high school levels, Community Schools Coordinator at a central office and principal at elementary level.

Norma moved to Alabama in 1996 and has enjoyed being a part of the Orange Beach community since that time. She is an active member of Orange Beach United Methodist Church and has worked with children there since joining the church.

She served on the Orange Beach Public Library Board for 3 years and is a member of Friends of the Orange Beach Library. Norma delivered Meals on Wheels in the community for 15+ years and continues to support that program. She is happily married to Mike Lynch and they reside in Orange Beach.
