Assistant Superintendent, Educational Technology: David Besancon, Ph.D., M.B.A.
Dr. Besancon has a long history of working in education technology. For 13 years, he served as the Director of Information Technology at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Following his stint at MGCCC, he was hired as Director of Information Technology with the Jackson County School District and then promoted to Director of Operations.
Dr. Besancon graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi before continuing his education at William Carey University, where he earned a Master of Business Administration. In 2022, he received his Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration.
Education runs in Dr. Besancon’s family! His wife is a teacher assistant in Ocean Springs and will finish her teaching degree and license in May. They have two children, Kirsten and Wesley. Kirsten is a teacher at Trent Lott Academy and resides in Mobile. Wesley attends school at Ocean Springs High School and is an extremely talented trombone player. He is a member of the Mississippi Lion’s Band and participates in the youth orchestra in Gulfport. In their spare time, they love taking drives to the coastal areas of Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. Teh family enjoys the mountains of Tennessee, North Carolina and Georgia!
