Marty McRae, a native of Greenville, Alabama, was born in 1965 and graduated from Greenville High School in 1983. He continued his education and athletic career by playing two years of junior college baseball at George Wallace Community College in Dothan before transferring to Troy University. He later earned his degree from Auburn University at Montgomery.

McRae initially pursued a degree in accounting and computer science but realized midway through college that he wanted a more active, people-centered career. That decision led him to education, where he could combine his passion for teaching and athletics.

In 1990, McRae began his career at Fairhope High School as a math teacher and coach. He coached football, basketball and baseball and also drove a bus. He spent 11 years in the classroom before moving into administration, serving nine years as assistant principal. In total, he dedicated 20 years to Fairhope High School.

In 2010, McRae was named principal of Spanish Fort High School, where he served for five and a half years. In January 2015, he joined the district leadership team. He has served for the past 11 years as assistant superintendent and athletic director, supporting athletic programs and student success across Baldwin County.

McRae has been married for 26 years and is the father of four children and grandfather of two. His career reflects a longstanding commitment to education, athletics and leadership.
