Peer Helpers
-
Each homeroom in 3rd - 6th grade has a student who is trained to befriend other students. Peer Helpers offer their fellow students encouragement and assistance with the emotional, societal, behavioral, and educational challenges that they face in day-to-day life. They serve as tutors, mentors, mediators, and advocates for their peers. They also assist new students in transitioning between schools and communities. Peer Helpers will meet in the mornings before school twice a month.
National Elementary Honor Society
-
The National Elementary Honor Society is for 5th and 6th graders who demonstrate the qualities of scholarship, responsibility, service, and leadership. NEHS recognizes excellence and provides opportunities for students to develop important leadership skills. Students will participate in two service projects. We will meet 7:15-7:40 am twice monthly on Wednesday mornings.
Pirate Sound
-
Pirate Sound is a group of advanced singers who serve as ambassadors for our school by performing at various events on campus and around the community. They are chosen based on interest, vocal and movement ability, confidence, enthusiasm, citizenship, and academic approval.
Past performances have included the Alabama Association of Elementary Administrators Conference, Coastal Alabama College’s annual Christmas on the Coast, the DAR Christmas Party, Cookies with Santa, Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival, FEEF Golf Tournament, and FES Christmas Sing-along, Silent Auction, Talent Show and Third Grade Awards Ceremony. Rehearsals are once a week, during the school day. All Pirate Sound members are required to have a spirit t-shirt.
