Welcome to Fairhope West Elementary School! Fairhope West Elementary is home to over 1,000 children in grades K-6, 85 faculty members, and 30 support staff. Through the enormous support of our Baldwin County Board of Education Curriculum Department, Fairhope City Council-Education Advisory Committee, Weise Endowment, Parent-Teacher Corporation, and FEEF- Fairhope Education Enrichment Foundation, our school is reaching new heights of academic achievement and whole-child social-emotional growth. Our focus is to teach students to read in a safe environment. Students are exposed to a balanced literacy program. Finally, through the financial support of all of these organizations, we hire expert tutors to implement an intense intervention program, Leveled Literacy Intervention, with students significantly below grade level to make accelerated progress.
Our city leaders have partnered with the Baldwin County Board of Education to enrich and enhance our guided reading book room, classroom libraries, and teacher development. FEEF supports our science and math instruction through our STEAM Lab and The Pelican’s Nest, a field trip site for the students to come and learn about Mobile Bay through STEAM lessons - science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
The arts are another important area for the Fairhope community. Guest artists like Mark Kistler, Ricky Trione, and others speak, draw, and write with students and parents. The community and school have celebrated authors. FWE has hosted James Dean and Jane O'Connor, authors of the Pete the Cat and Fancy Nancy series.
Fairhope West Elementary has a proud history of excellent teachers who love children like they are their own! We hope you will make Fairhope West Elementary School your home! Welcome!
