Rockwell Elementary School

    Welcome to Rockwell Video

Rockwell Elementary is one of three elementary schools in the Spanish Fort High School feeder pattern. Our school opened in August 1997 with 450 students and currently has an enrollment of approximately 800. Due to the area’s tremendous population growth, rezoning has occurred numerous times since 1997. A 20-room wing and new cafetorium (cafeteria with a stage) were added in 2014 and 2016, respectively.

Rockwell Elementary promotes strong academic instruction resulting in high levels of student achievement. Additionally, the school promotes arts education and has been recognized at the state level (two-time CLAS Banner Award winner) and nationally (White House Champions of Change) for its arts integration program. Through its partnership with the Mobile Symphony Orchestra, additional music instruction is provided for students. Beginning in 2022, Rockwell moved from a K-5 school to becoming K-6. With this change, band is offered to sixth grade students. Spanish Fort’s 3-mil tax initiative has allowed for extensive reading and math intervention, STEAM/Robotics instruction, and many other enrichment opportunities. Parent and community involvement is very strong, receiving tremendous support from the Parent Teacher Association.
