Dr. Lovic Eugene (L.E.) Rockwell, M.D.

  • Dr. L. E. Rockwell was born July 4, 1933 in Vinegar Bend, located in Washington County, Alabama.  He died August 18, 1995. Dr. Rockwell continues to be considered one of the most influential physicians and contributors to education in Baldwin County’s history.

    Graduated from Fruitdale High School in 1949 (Age 16) in Fruitdale, AL (Washington County)
    United States Navy Veteran Active and Reserves (Hospital Corpsman) Honorably Discharged

    Attended Livingston State College (University of West Alabama)
    Attended Duke University Durham, North Carolina
    Graduated from the University of Alabama, Bachelor of Science (Double Major) Chemistry & Biology 1959
    Graduated from University of Alabama Medical School in 1963 and completed his internship at Mobile General Hospital in Mobile, AL 1963-1964
