What color uniforms can my child wear?
SFES students wear khaki, white, navy, black and red uniforms. Please refer to our uniform policy on the homepage.

What time should we arrive at school?
Students should not arrive on campus before 7:15 a.m., as supervision is not available before that time. Car riders should be dropped off in the designated area in front of the gym between 7:15 - 7:55 a.m. Any students arriving after 7:55 a.m. should report to the office for a late pass.

How much is a lunch in the cafeteria?
The cost of a lunch for PreK-12th grade students is $2.75. For those that apply and qualify, a reduced rate is $.40. Students may also buy extra milk for $.30. Menus are distributed by the school monthly and can also be accessed on the website. If you join your child for a special occassion lunch, an adult lunch is $4.00.
Applications for free and reduced lunches are available on at www.bcbe.org.
Lunch payments can be made in cash or check and sent to school with your child. Payments into your child's lunch account can be as much as $150. That money is only used for lunch, extra milk or a la carte items in the cafeteria. You may also use the MySchoolBucks online payment system.

What should I do if I need to visit the school campus?
Per our district's safety plan all visitors to campus must report to the front office upon arrival. The office doors remain locked throughout the school day. At this time, when you arrive at the office, you must go to the window to the left of the office door. The office staff will handle your needs and requests from there. Remember that face masks must be worn while on campus.

Can my child have a birthday party in his/her classroom?
Any birthday snacks shared in the classroom must be on the approved snack list located on our home page.

What if my child needs medication during the school day?
All medication must be authorized and administered by the school nurse. Medication must be brought directly to the nurse by the child's parent/guardian. Students may not carry medication in their backpacks or on their person unless authorized by the nurse and the school principal. There is also paperwork that must be completed before leaving the medication with the nurse.

What if my child is absent from school?
- An absence may be excused for:
- illness
- legal quarantine
- death in the immediate family
- inclement weather that is dangerous to life or health
- emergency conditions determined by school administration
- observance of religious holidays when verified by religious leaders
- A written excuse must be sent within THREE days after an absence.
- Make-up work should be turned in no later than THREE days following the absence.
- Parent-teacher communication is important, especially when a student is absent from school.

Will my kindergartener take a nap during the school day?
Kindergarteners will not nap during the school day and will not need a nap mat at school.
