  • Trent Higginbothem, Head Varsity Baseball Coach

    Trent Higgunbothem

    Coach Higginbothem started his coaching career at Florida A&M, where he was in charge of working with hitters and catchers. Under his  tutelage, the Rattlers not only led the MEAC in batting average (.322), runs (416), runs per game (8.0), hits (571), doubles (102), RBI  (379), on-base percentage (.425) and slugging (.473), but were also ranked in the top-10 in the country in on-base percentage (2nd),  average (5th) and runs per game (7th).

    Coach Higginbothem also coached  at Florida Gulf Coast University, where he helped the Eagles to the highest school ranking in  program history (#9 in the country).
    From FGCU, Coach Higg became the recruiting coordinator at Coastal Alabama North Community College for two year before moving to  the high school level. 
    At the high school level, Coach Higginbothem has served as the head coach for Morgan City High school in Louisiana and Coach Higg served two years as the hitting coach for Saraland Hogj School. 
    Coach Higg is entering his 2nd season leading the Tigers. Coach Higg is married to his wife, Monica Higginbothem, who is the Head Softball Coach at Bishop State Community College. They have a beautiful daughter, Ellissa. 

    Evan Jackson, Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach

    Evan Jackson

    Evan Jackson teaches Career Prep and coaches football and baseball. Baseball has been a part of his life as long as he can remember. He played at Lexington High School where they came close to winning the State Title Game. After that, he began coaching. He started coaching at Lexington as the JV Head Coach and Varsity Assistant. He became the pitching coach a year later. Then, after 5 years there, he began coaching at Hatton High School. He was the pitching coach and was over the defensive. After that, he became the Head Coach at Washington County. He stayed there for 3 years before transitioning to Baldwin County High School, where he has been for the last three years.



    Christian Long, Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach

    Christian Long graduated from Davidson High School (Mobile, AL) in 2016. He continued his baseball journey in Mobile at Bishop State Community College. He then spent the rest of his college career at Spring Hill College where he won two SIAC conference championships. He was prepped under many legendary coaches such as: Lloyd Skoda, Mike Harrell, James Hattenstein, and Frank Sims. He graduated from SHC with a History and Secondary Education degree in 2022. 

    He has had the privilege of coaching at Fairhope High School with Coach Kyle Hunter before transitioning to a full-time spot at Baldwin County High School.

    Will McMillan, Head Junior Varsity Baseball Coach

    Coach McMillan is a 2006 graduate of Baldwin County High School. He attended Alabama Southern Community College and graduated with a BS in PK-12 Physical Education from The University of Alabama.
    He has had the privilege of coaching baseball at the following high schools:
    Sipsey Valley High School, Bulh, Alabama
    Davidson High School, Mobile, Alabama
    Baldwin County High School, Bay Minette, Alabama
    Coach McMillan resides in Bay Minette with his wife Christina and their son, Easton.

    Jeremy Sewell, Assistant Junior Varsity Baseball Coach

    Jeremy SewellCoach Jeremy Sewell has been coaching 21 years and this is his 3rd year coaching at Baldwin County High School. Coach Sewell has been a head Baseball Coach 14 years of the 21 years of coaching at the high school level. He has also played for a State Baseball Championship in High School (Oxford, AL) and won a State Championship as well in 2012 at Oxford High School.




    Randell Ruiz, Head Freshman Baseball Coach

    Coach Ruiz, a 2016 Central High School Alumnus, made a Final Four Appearance before signing with Point Park University to play baseball.

    He graduated from the University of West Florida in 2021, where he earned his Bachelor's in Physical Education/Teaching Education.

    Coach Ruiz has held the following coaching positions during his tenure:

    Coach Ruiz is originally from Pace, Florida, but currently resides in Pensacola, Florida.
