How will my child know the assigned teacher and classroom?
Loxley Elementary, it's meet the teacher time! This year, your child's teacher will send a link for you to sign up for your individual time. The link will be emailed by 3:30, Monday, August 1st! Teachers will offer 15 minute individual appointments to “Meet the Teacher” on either Wednesday, August 3rd, Thursday, August 4th, Monday, August 8th or Tuesday, August 9th. Teachers will offer a variety of morning or afternoon appointments. Make sure your child is registered in order to receive an email from your child's teacher! The FIRST day of school is on Wednesday, August 10th!

What supplies are requested for school?
Students should bring a backpack, box of tissues, set of headphones, and a water bottle. All other supplies will be provided by the school.

What time does school begin and end?
Loxley Elementary School doors open at 7:15 am. Students should be in the classroom by 7:50. Our dismissal process begins at 2:45 pm.

What time should my student arrive at school for breakfast?
We begin serving breakfast at 7:15. Students need to be finished in the cafeteria and in their classroom no later than 7:50.

Where does my child go when they get to school?
Students who eat breakfast at school will go directly to the cafeteria. K-3 students will go to the hallway and grades 4-6 will go directly to the gym.
Teachers, our School Resource Officer, and other Loxley police officers will be out on the sidewalks and in the K-3 building to assist students in getting to their classrooms the first week of school.

How will my child get home in the afternoons?
If you haven’t already, please fill out the transportation form. If you only have a child in kindergarten this year, and you plan on coming to meet your child’s teacher, you will not need to fill this out at this time.
CARS MUST HAVE CAR NUMBERS DISPLAYED. Anyone without a number will be asked to show an ID at the front office to pick up their child.

If I don’t have a car tag number, when can I get it?
Please fill out the transportation form. We will have car tags ready for pickup on Monday, August 9th during Meet the Teacher.

How can I change my child’s dismissal procedure?
Consistency in dismissal is very important. Texts or phone calls will not be accepted for changes in dismissal. If a change in dismissal is necessary, a written note must be sent to the front office for approval. Please do your best to plan ahead for dismissal and have a routine.

How can I contact my child’s teacher?
Communication between the teacher and parent is very valuable. You may send a note in your child’s school agenda, send an email to the teacher, send a message through REMIND or call and leave a message for the teacher. Email or written note is the preferred method. Please give teachers 48 hours to respond. If there is an emergency situation, please contact the front office. Administrators are also here to support our families and staff.

Can I drop off snacks or other forgotten items?
Please plan ahead so that snacks and school items come to school with your child. Important items will be taken at the front door.

How do I get medication to the nurse?
We will have a medication drop-off on Monday, August 9tht from 8:00-6:00 and Tuesday 8:00-3:00 in the front of the school. Medication CANNOT be dropped off on the first day of school. Please call the office and ask to speak with the nurse if you have any questions.

Can I eat lunch with my child occasionally?
Due to limited space, please save eating lunch with your child for birthday celebrations.

How do I get free or reduced lunch?
Please complete the school lunch application. Our school receives federal funds based on the information provided.

Do students have snack or a break?
Yes. Students may bring a snack and drink from home or purchase one from school each day. All snacks are $.50 each. Ice cream will be limited to birthday celebrations only.
