    We have two National Board Certified Teachers, Mrs. Whitehead and Mrs. Welsh, at Foley Elementary. Our Assistant Principal, Alicia Morrison, is also a National Board Certified Teacher. We have many others who are pursuing their National Board certification.  This high recognition takes teachers through 4 detailed components of analyzing their practice, building awareness of their instruction. and reflecting on data and instruction.  Becoming a National Board Certified Teacher is an amazing accomplishment and one that influences student achivement.

    Foley Elementary has many teachers who are eMINTS certified or are currently working through the amazing program.  eMINTS teachers ensure instruction is engaging, effecitve, and students are leading their own 21st Century learning. 

  • Leader In Me

    We are proud to be a Leader In Me school!

    Leader In Me (LiM) is an evidence-based, comprehensive-school improvment model--developed in partnership with educators--that empowers students with the leadership and life skills they need to thrive in the 2st century. Our school will be learning leadership skills throughout the year using The Leader in Me Leadership Guide.   • Cognia Stem Certified Logo

    Our school earned Cognia STEM certification in 2020. To earn this certification, we presented evidence to demonstrate our journey and implementation of STEAM activities across all curriculums and all grade levels. We value Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Math here are Foley Elementary and know the importance of our students being engaged in real-world experiences, hands-on learning, and problem-solving strategies. Every five years, Cognia uses a process to review, revise, and improve STEM Standards to ensure that they remain relevant and support institutions in improving outcomes for all learners. The current STEM Standards for K-12 schools and programs are organized under four Domains: 1 2 3 4 STEM Community STEM Learning Culture STEM Experiences STEM Outcomes.

  • Lexia LETRS LogoMany of our teachers have completed LETRS professional learning or they are pursuing this professional development in order to enhance their knowledge of literacy strategies and literacy instruction. The Lexia LETRS® (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) Suite is comprehensive professional learning designed to provide early childhood and elementary educators and administrators with deep knowledge to be literacy and language experts in the science of reading. Developed by Dr. Louisa Moats and leaders in the field of literacy, Lexia LETRS teaches the skills needed to master the foundational and fundamentals of reading and writing instruction—phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and written language.

  • Seesaw Ambassador Program

    Seesaw is our school-wide platform that allows for student portfolios, formative insights, and family communication to exist all in one place. Students use intuitive tools to capture and demonstrate learning in a portfolio. Teachers get valuable insights into what students understand without extra work.   • Robotics Competition

    In our second robotics competition ever, 1Roar Winter Competition at Foley Middle School, two of our three Foley Elementary teams advanced to the State Championship in Spring 2019. Our two teams competed on the state level, in Auburn, AL, amongst over 100 elementary school teams. We are excited about our students participating in future competitions!
