Beta Chi Sigma

  • Beta Chi Sigma
Beta Chi Sigma is an elite service organization that was established in 2019 on the campus of Baldwin County High Schools by Kayland Lamar and Norleisha Lewis. Our organization is built on the principles of C.L.A.S.S. (Character, Leadership, Attitude, Sisterhood, and Scholarship). The purpose of Beta Chi Sigma is to promote positive interaction between young ladies who exemplify excellence through leadership, social and cultural awareness, character development, sisterly relations, and academic success.

Although we are known for our dynamic basketball stand chants, halftime performances, and thematic pep rally shows, stepping is only one component of our organization. Members of Beta Chi Sigma also serve the school and community by hosting and volunteering at community events. In addition to school and community service, sisterhood is also an important pillar of our organization. Members also attend workshops and events that encourage self-discovery and team building. All members are held in high regard when it comes to scholarship. Being academically successful is a necessity for all members of our organization.

Our organization is also known for positively impacting the culture and climate on our campus through initiatives, service projects, and events. A few accomplishments and awards that Beta Chi has received since its inception include being recognized with the 2020 BCHS Trailblazer Award and being selected as one of the 2021 Chosen Youth Outreach Black History Honorees. Additionally, Beta Chi has been mentioned in the local newspaper and on local television on various occasions. Last, but not least, our organization has gained national recognition via our social media platforms with over 75,000 followers on TikTok and almost 10,000 followers on Instagram.
