    National Junior Honor Society

"NJHS is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship."  (NJHS.US)

To be considered for NJHS, students must be in their second semester of 7th grade or 8th grade and maintain a 90.0 or above academic average in their core classes- math, English, science, and history.

Students who meet the scholarship requirement will have an opportunity to complete an application describing activities they have done that exemplify our remaining pillars: service, community, character, and citizenship. This can be shown through volunteering, extra-curricular activities, and in various other forms.

Once a student is inducted into NJHS, they must remain committed to our values:

    • Maintain a 90.0 academic average every quarter
    • Volunteer 6 hours per semester in their community
    • Maintaining a clean disciplinary record- any form of suspension (OCS or off campus) is a cause for removal from NJHS
