    Community Mentoring for At-Risk

    Provide mentoring to a small group of identified at-risk girls to help with their social skills and academic development. 

    Bi-Weekly/Monthly

    Provide prizes and gift certificates to be used as rewards for good behavior

    Group Sponsorship

    Groups/Clubs for at-risk students receiving mentoring are in need of funding to pay for snacks for meetings, t-shirts, incentives, and field trips

    School Uniforms

    Provide school uniforms for the school’s clothes closet. Various sizes needed for children ages 9-12.
    Items needed:
          • Khaki or navy shorts or         pants
          • Navy or white polo shirts
         • Tennis shoes
         • Sweaters, sweatshirts, and           jackets-must be solid colors

     

    Community Mentoring for At-Risk

    Work to mentor an individual at-risk student. This may be as simple as having lunch with a student.

    Boys’ Clothing

    Button-down shirts and ties-various sizes need for boys ages 9-12.

     

     

    Community Mentoring for At-Risk

    Speak to a group of boys who are learning the etiquette of being a gentleman-shaking hands, holding doors, tying a necktie, speaking to elders, and other life essentials

    Child-friendly Food

    Individually wrapped nonperishable snack and meal items to be sent home with students in need
    Examples include: crackers, cookies, granola bars, applesauce, pop tarts, ravioli, spaghettios, soup, juice boxes

     

    Academic Assistance

    Work with a classroom teacher to provide academic assistance to children identified as needing intervention.

    Reading Buddy

    Work individually with a student to assist in reading comprehension and fluency

    Read Across America

    Read to a classroom on Read Across America Day

              Early March - 30 min.

    Field Day Volunteers

    Assist with Field Day Activities

    Share your aspects of your career/trade/talent to one or more classes

              Whenever available

     

     

    Office/Canteen Help

    Assist in the office by running off papers, working in the canteen, greeting visitors
