Deputy Jonathan Thompson

I was born and raised in Elsanor. I am married and have two children. I graduated from Foley High School and attended two years of college at Bishop State Community College in Mobile on a baseball scholarship. I have been in Law Enforcement for a little over 11 years now. I started my Law Enforcement career at the City of Daphne Police Department, where I worked for 6 years. I am now employed by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, where I have been employed for 5 years. During my time in Law Enforcement, I have been able to serve in SWAT, Narcotics (where I worked undercover for two years), a field training officer (FTO), a hostage negotiator, and the Special Response Team (SRT)-mostly dealing with crowd control and perimeters). This is my second year as an SRO at Rosinton school.

My goals for the year are not much different than all the teachers and staff. The safety of students and staff is the main priority. I hope to not only build relationships with the students, staff, and teachers, but also teach and educate the students. I enjoy going into the classrooms to read books or teach classes. In my time here at Rosinton I have found this school to be the best in the county and continues to set the bar high.
