BLESSING BARN

  • The Elberta Blessing Barn exists to help those in need within the community. It is located behind the Elberta Civic Center, along Alabama Street. The Blessing Barn is equipped with electricity that was provided and will be paid for by the Town of Elberta. It will be open from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. every day of the week.

People can make monetary or supply donations at Elberta Middle School and student organizations will maintain it's organization and functionality. The Blessing Barn serves the same purpose as Blessing Boxes, many of which can be found around the county. It is lined with shelving that is stocked with non-perishable food items, clothing and shoes, school supplies, hygiene products, toys and more. It also features clothing racks near the entrance.  Like Blessing Boxes, anyone can step inside to take the items that they need for free. The Blessing Barn is unmanned, offering anonymity for both donors and those who utilize the location. However, it is maintained by student organizations who visit the Blessing Barn several times a week to keep it stocked and organized to meet our community's needs.
