Coach Phillips has an extensive coaching background. He has 15+ cumulative years of softball coaching experience. Although starting out in the baseball realm and playing himself at the collegiate level, he quickly realized that he had a much deeper passion for softball. He has coached travel teams in age ranges from 12U-18U. He was a pioneer in one of South Florida’s most successful travel softball programs which launched him into the High School coaching world where he coached the High School Varsity team to a State Final every year he was there. He was also instrumental in the collegiate recruiting of a vast amount of his players in Division I schools throughout his career from Auburn, Alabama, FAU, to South Alabama to name a few. Once he relocated to Alabama with his family, his reputation quickly gained the attention of Spanish Fort High School, and he coached several years before he decided to retire his coaching skills. He continued to do private hitting lessons throughout his career and even after his retirement. He has now decided to dust off his coaching visor and get back out on the field with Kercher and take this program to new heights.
