I am Mark Doherty, long time principal of Daphne East Elementary with over 20 years in the Baldwin County School System. In the past, I served as assistant principal at Fairhope K-1 Center, Fairhope Elementary School, Robertsdale Elementary School, and Foley Elementary School working to establish the qualities exhibited in successful leaders. In addition to my experience as a school administrator, I taught seven years in the Baldwin County School System; six years as a third grade teacher and one year developing and implementing a new Math Lab at Fairhope Elementary School.
Outside of my school life, I enjoy every minute I get to spend with my wife, Keturah, and our daughter, Maeve.
I look forward to a great school year and I am excited to see the growth that our Daphne East students will experience this year.
Jennifer Middleton - Assistant Principal
It is great to be a Trojan, especially at Daphne East Elementary School, and it is my pleasure to serve our school as one of the Assistant Principals. Educating and facilitating growth in both children and adults is my passion, and I feel incredibly blessed to participate in this mission at Daphne East each day. I have been an educator for twenty-four years, working as a teacher, instructional coach, school improvement specialist, and instructional leader.
My greatest blessings include my husband, Keith Middleton, and my daughter, Claire Middleton. They teach and inspire me to be a better person every day. We love to travel and spend time together and are all avid readers of great books. You may find it interesting to know that my identical twin sister is also an Assistant Principal in the Daphne schools. We like to keep it interesting! Go Trojans!
Pat Malisham - Assistant Principal
Pat Malisham is passionately serving in the role as an Assistant Principal. This is her 21st year in the field of education, but she also has other experiences in the area of social services. She is a former Special Educator and Special Education Resource Consultant.
Pat completed her undergraduate studies at Troy University. She furthered her educational studies at Alabama State University and the University of South Alabama. Pat has served various schools in leadership roles as an Assistant Principal. Her experiences also led her to serve as Interim Principal at Foley Intermediate School.
Pat’s most rewarding educational experience is the daily interaction with students and supporting the faculty. She considers students to “be the heart of every educational decision”. Her leadership style and school-based decisions are solely focused on students’ educational and social advancement.
Pat’s ultimate and most fulfilling job comes to serving her daughter, Tyra.
