** An important note – The City of Gulf Shores has formed its own school system, meaning Gulf Shores Schools will no longer be a part of Baldwin County Public Schools beginning with the 2019-2020 school year.

A feeder pattern is the sequence of schools that students attend as they progress through the grade levels. Elementary schools feed middle schools which feed high schools.

Currently, Baldwin County has eight feeder patterns, meaning there are eight high schools that other schools feed into. The latest is the Elberta feeder pattern established in 2017 for a new Elberta High School, which opened with the ninth grade at the start of the 2017-18 school year. A grade level will be added each year to ultimately include grades 9 - 12. The school now serves grades nine and ten.

In a fast-growing county like Baldwin, school attendance zones and even feeder patterns will change. The Board of Education’s redistricting policy provides guidance on a rezoning process and includes notice of any proposed changes and public hearings before any change is recommended by the superintendent and voted on by the Board of Education.

In Baldwin County what schools your child will attend depends upon which feeder pattern your home is located. You can get an idea of the schools that track to a residential address by entering the address in our zone locator: https://www.bcbe.org/zone  –  Always check with the school registrar to verify the accuracy of the online tool.
