Grateful for Grandparents

  • Are you a grandparent, other relative, or close friend that’s raising a child as their primary caregiver? Are there times that you have questions about your student’s school life? How do I check grades, and attendance, pay fees, sign up for sports, and qualify for scholarships? Wait, what is FAFSA, My School Bucks, PowerSchool? My student is gifted, wants to do Co-Op, and takes AP classes!!

The list and the questions go on and on for all of us as caregivers over our student’s daily life and future. Baldwin County Public Schools has a group of volunteers who want to help bridge the gap and at the same time give you the opportunity to meet other Grandfamilies and connect. These volunteers are from all areas of Baldwin County Public Schools: teachers, registrars, bookkeepers, clerks, paraprofessionals, after-school care teachers, counselors, and English as a second language teachers. The list literally goes on and on of the people who want to help you, and your student succeed and feel supported.
