  • The mission of the Baldwin County Board of Education Transportation Department is to provide the safest, most efficient bus transportation for all students attending Baldwin County Schools. The Baldwin County Public Schools Transportation Department consistently ranks as one of the safest and most efficient in Alabama, according to the Alabama State Department of Education Transportation Department’s annual state inspections. Baldwin County buses transport more than 15,000 students on a daily basis. There are over 400 bus routes, which travel more than 21,000 miles every day while serving the students of Baldwin County. Our fleet of more than 400 school buses is maintained by a staff of state-certified mechanics, with bus shops located in Bay Minette and Summerdale. All buses are equipped with digital video recording systems, two-way radios, and live GPS tracking capabilities. The Baldwin County Transportation Department trains and works closely with federal, state, and local law enforcement and emergency agencies to ensure safety. The department also trains and plans with the Department of Homeland Security for various possible emergency situations.
