    How many students attend SFMS?

For 2019/2020, enrollment is estimated to be between 1,000-1050 combined 6th,7th, and 8th grade students.

What identification is required to enter the building?

Parents must show a picture id such as a driver's license at the entry camera on the left side of the entry door. Parents need to push the camera button and verbally state the reason for entry. Office staff will then buzz/unlock the doors for entry. These are safety procedures for all Baldwin County schools.

When is the school office open?

The school office is open Monday-Friday from 7:00 am-4:00 pm. During the summer, office hours are Monday-Thursday from 7:00 am-4:00 pm.

Due to the overwhelming number of items being dropped off for students at the school office, office staff can no longer accept items for students. We have a parent drop off table set up in the front lobby where you can leave items that you need to get to your child. They can pick up the items from the table during class changes.

What can I expect for schedule pick up day?

If registration fees were not paid online, you can pay on schedule pick up day. Schedules and lockers will also be given out. Students may bring their supplies and store them in their locker and give to their teachers on the 1st day of school. Information will also be available for bus routes, PTA, School Nurse, and PE.

How do I apply for free/reduced lunch?

You can apply through this link.

How do I drop off/pick up my child from school? Is there a map of the carline?

    • Arrival:  Students brought to school by car will load/unload in front of our gym.  Parents need to enter D’Olive Road (behind school). This is illustrated with the pink lines on the map.
    • Dismissal: Vehicles need to enter car lines via D’Olive Road (behind school). 6th grade students will be picked up in front of the school (green line on map).  7th grade students will be picked up in the bus lane after busses exit (yellow line on map).  8th grade students and/or multiple grade carpoolers will be picked up in front of the gym (pink line on map).  For the safety of all students, no students will be dropped off or picked up from any other locations.

Our class size typically ranges from 25-32 students.

How can I check my child's grades?

SFMS like all Baldwin County schools offers online grade reports via the INOW program. Parents can contact Teri Fisher or Sharon Sharp and request a user name and password to monitor their child's grades. A direct link to Inow (A+ Grades) is located on the homepage of the school website. Mid-Quarter progress reports are mailed home to students that have a 69 or below in any class. Report cards are also distributed at the end of each quarter for all students.

What is the grading scale at SFMS?

    • B (80-89
    • C (70-79)

Are advanced classes offered at SFMS?

Advanced courses are offered to our 7th and 8th grade students. Information is sent home toward the end of each school year. There will also be a parent meeting to go over the requirements for these courses and other information to help you decide if advanced courses are a good fit for your child.

Is there any homework help for students?

Think Tank opens at 7:10 every morning in the media center. Teachers are present for tutoring. This is a free service and open to all SFMS students.

How do I schedule a parent conference?

The best way to schedule a parent conference is to email the teacher that you wish to meet with and together you will be able to find a date and time that works for everyone. You can email the teacher by visiting the Teachers and Staff tab on our website.

    How does SFMS handle bullying?
