• Welcome to
    Daphne High School
    Yearbook, Newspaper, Lit Magazine

Daphne High School provides instruction and application in print journalism. Students enrolled in newspaper (The Daphne Oracle) or yearbook (The Palladium) will work for and build both publications. Interested students (grades 10-12) should speak to their counselor about taking this course if interested in being a part of making and preserving history at DHS! This course is designed to teach the skills necessary to produce the school yearbook and newspaper, which offer a complete record of an entire school year.  The year begins by planning the coverage for the school year and designing a unifying theme for both publications.  Students will study print journalism including layout and design techniques, writing and editing copy, headlines, and captions. Students will also have the option of learning about photography, as well as learn strategies of planning, marketing (ad sales), and distribution.  At times, deadlines require that staff members work after school, on weekends, and holidays.  Students will learn good work habits and are responsible for all phases of print publication. Yearbook and newspaper are classes that meet daily during Parthenon.
