          2024 Alabama Course of Study: Human Services Event Planning and Management is designed for students interested in learning to create and present gatherings for
    groups of people to enjoy or attend for corporate goals or individual benefits. The course emphasizes the many facets
    of this multi-billion-dollar industry, including site selection, financial management, time management, promotion, and
    catering. Students will organize, plan, and evaluate various meetings and events such as conferences, sporting events,
    weddings, and workshops.

          2024 Alabama Course of Study: Human Services A one-credit course that provides students with core knowledge and skills in the areas of marriage and family,
    parenting and caregiving, consumer sciences, apparel, housing, food and nutrition, and technology. A school-based

          2024 Alabama Course of Study: Human Services A one-credit course designed for students interested in pursuing a career in fashion design. It provides students with
    knowledge and skills for the application of artistic expression related to textiles, apparel, and fashion design. A fashion

          2024 Alabama Course of Study: Human Services A one-credit course designed to enable students to explore the relationship between food, nutrition, fitness, and
    wellness. Students learn how to select and prepare nutritious foods. A school-based laboratory is required for this course.

          2024 Alabama Course of Study: Human Services A one-credit course designed to introduce students to the historical aspects and contemporary trends in housing and
    interior design. An interior design studio is the required school-based laboratory for the course.
    INTRODUCTION TO REAL ESTATE   Pending Textbook Adoption for School Year
    2024-2025
          2024 Alabama Course of Study: Human Services Introduction to Real Estate Sales covers aspects of marketing real estate; the importance of customer and client service;
    the differences between land, real estate, and real property; laws and ethics governing the real estate industry; and
    licensure requirements in the industry. Additional career opportunities in the housing and real estate industry are
    explored. Laboratory experiences are an integral part of this course and may include field trips, job shadowing,
    internships, and other meaningful experiences.

          2024 Alabama Course of Study: Human Services Retail and Fashion Marketing is designed to provide students with an overview of retail and fashion marketing principles
    and practices. This course introduces students to the retail industry, including the fundamentals of fashion marketing,
    key marketing concepts essential to every business, types of businesses involved in the industry, fashion industry
    economics, and an array of career opportunities. Standards are written in ways that encourage skill development in
    marketing segmentation and target marketing, product selection and buying, and inventory systems.

          2024 Alabama Course of Study: Human Services This one-credit course is an extended laboratory experience to address the advancement and specialization of careers
    within Human Services through individualized or small-group instruction. This course allows students to enhance the
    essential and intermediate skills learned through program courses within the career cluster and prepare for industry
    credentialing opportunities.

          2024 Alabama Course of Study: Human Services This is a one-credit course that introduces middle school students to Career Clusters/Pathways in the field of family and consumer sciences. These pathways provide services or produce products consumed by individuals and families. In the Human Services Cluster, students will explore the Family Studies and Community Services; Early Childhood Development Services; Nutrition and Wellness; Fashion; Interior Design; and Consumer Services pathways. In the Education and Training Cluster, students will explore careers in the Early Childhood Education; Teaching; and Professional and Support Services pathways. Restaurant and Beverage and Food Services; Lodging; and the Recreation, Travel and Tourism pathways are included in the Hospitality and Tourism Cluster. Exposure to career opportunities in these pathways will allow students to successfully integrate their own interests and skills into a career plan.
