Curriculum: Social Studies
ALSDE-approved 2010 Social Studies Curriculum Standards. The 2010 Alabama Curriculum: Social Studies provides Alabama students and teachers with a curriculum that contains content designed to promote competence in the areas of economics, geography, history, civics and government. With an emphasis on responsible citizenship, these content areas serve as the four organizational strands for the Grades K-12 social studies program.

Society and the workplace require that all Alabama students receive a solid foundation of knowledge, skills, and understanding in mathematics. Alabama educators must focus on the teaching of mathematics in ways that enable students to expand professional opportunities, understand and critique the world, and experience the joy, wonder, and beauty of mathematics.
